GAP & GHP Audit

The State of Alabama offers voluntary independent audits of produce suppliers throughout the production and supply chain.  These include farms and warehouses both large and small.  The State of Alabama follows the USDA guidelines for GHP/GAP (Good Handling Practices / Good Agriculture Practices).  There are several scopes that the State follows that are tailored to fit your farm or warehouse.  As Inspectors, we work with you to ensure that you can verify that fruit & vegetables are produced, packed, handled and stored in the safest means possible, to minimize the risks of food safety hazards.

Most companies are now requiring that the food they acquire is traceable from the field to the table.  Inspectors verify adherence to the recommendations made in the “Guide to Minimize Microbial Food Safety Hazards for Fresh Fruits & Vegetables”.
